Whiteboard Wednesday – 2/7/13
Welcome to a Thursday edition of Whiteboard Wednesday! For the many RJS Software customers who automate document distribution, report splitting is often an integral part of the process.
One of our oldest and most popular report automation products is aptly called Report Splitter. The product is key for customers who want to monitor IBM i output queues, split spool files into separate reports or extract the data so it can be merged with iForms templates, saved in WebDocs, or routed via email or a workflow process.
We recently rewrote the product user guide so that it’s more informative, and helps users set up and get the product working more quickly.
The highlights include:
- Planning How to Use Report Splitter: a sort of “mini-workbook” in the style of the WebDocs Workbook that tells customers what information they need before they set up Report Splitter. It includes a new fillable PDF for customers to determine how to meet their business requirements.
- Splitting and Processing Spool Files: common use-case scenarios for how to do basic Report Splitter tasks (splitting, extracting keys for WebDocs, etc.)
- Using Exit Programs: a basic overview of the exit points.
- The reference information from the old guide is now in the Appendices.
